Join Luol Deng and the Bright Stars of South Sudan Campaign
Since the outbreak of violence in South Sudan in December 2013, the conflict has intensified and displaced more than 1 million people. The UN forecasts that by the end of this year, 7.3 million people, or half the South Sudanese population, will be in need of humanitarian aid if the fighting continues.
As a result, children who remain inside South Sudan are at risk of hunger, debilitating diseases, recruitment into armed groups and separation from their families. Save the Children is on the ground in South Sudan helping to protect vulnerable children with nutrition, education and child protection. We've been providing safe areas for children to play, learn and regain a sense of normalcy amidst the crisis. These child friendly spaces keep children out of harm's way so their parents can focus on rebuilding their lives. Over 6,000 children and their families have already benefited from our Child Protection programs.
The Luol Deng Foundation and Save the Children are partnering to provide critical child protection services for the children of South Sudan. Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of Luol Deng and donors like you, we can continue to make a lasting impact on the lives of children in South Sudan.
